First Ship Successfully Passes Key Bridge Wreckage in Baltimore Thanks to New Deep-Water Channel

A cargo ship finally passed through a newly opened deep-water channel in Baltimore after being stuck since the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed. The ship, Balsa 94, headed for Canada, marking an important step in the cleanup and recovery effort in the harbor. Other stranded vessels are expected to follow. The temporary 35-foot channel allowed the ship to pass through with the help of tug boats. The bridge collapse caused economic impacts and the need for a temporary channel for large commercial vessels. Officials are working to remove the Dali and restore marine traffic to normal by next month.
