Florida man arrested for the murder of his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter

The boyfriend of a central Florida mother whose teenage daughter went missing in February was charged with murder on Wednesday. Stephan Sterns is accused of killing 13-year-old Madeline Soto, whose body was found in a wooded area after she was reported missing. Prosecutors haven’t decided on seeking the death penalty. The mother, Jennifer Soto, is not suspected of wrongdoing and has cooperated with the investigation. Sterns, already facing charges related to Madeline, is being held without bond. His trial was delayed as his defense team continues preparing. No defense attorney is listed for the murder charge.
