Former banker of Michael Cohen testifies in ongoing Trump trial

The third week of former President Donald Trump’s New York criminal trial resumed with testimony from a bank executive regarding hush money paid to Stormy Daniels by Michael Cohen before the 2016 election. Farro testified that Cohen’s urgency in setting up a bank account for the transaction raised red flags due to the nature of the payment. Trump has pleaded not guilty to falsification of business records charges. Judge Merchan found Trump in contempt for violating a gag order, fining him $1,000 per violation. Witnesses also testified to Trump’s efforts to suppress the story. Trump’s family members are attending the trial, with his son Barron’s graduation being approved as an acceptable absence.
