Former Cincinnati City Councilman convicted of corruption charges attends appeal hearing

Attorneys are pushing for the release of P.G. Sittenfeld, who is currently serving a 16-month prison sentence for accepting campaign contributions in exchange for votes on a development project. A panel of judges heard arguments for and against overturning his sentence, with both sides given 15 minutes to present their case. Sittenfeld, who was found guilty of bribery and attempted extortion, hopes for a favorable ruling to be released early. Prosecutors argue against oral arguments, indicating that the case may not be over regardless of the judges’ decision, as there are still legal options available.
