Former police officer accused of killing 2 women and kidnapping his son found dead from self-inflicted gunshot wound in Oregon; son unharmed

A former Yakima police officer suspected of two killings died in Oregon from self-inflicted gunshot wounds after a high-speed chase and crash on Interstate 5. His 1-year-old son was found unharmed in the backseat. The suspect, Elias Huizar, was wanted for killing his ex-wife and another woman before fleeing to Mexico with his son. During the chase, Huizar exchanged gunfire with troopers before crashing and taking his own life. The boy was rescued and is in Oregon authorities’ care. Huizar had a history of criminal charges and a protection order against him.
