Former aide Madeleine Westerhout testified in court that Donald Trump would dictate his tweets to her, preferring her to take notes rather than write them himself. Westerhout recounted her tasks while working for Trump, including printing out draft tweets for him to edit by hand. She learned what made a “signature” Trump tweet, such as capitalizing certain words and using exclamation points. Trump closely watched her as she testified, and preferred to work in a dining room rather than the Oval Office. Westerhout was eventually fired for leaking private information and Trump was banned from Twitter in 2021.
