An attorney from Los Angeles testified in Trump’s hush money trial, explaining how he brokered deals to keep alleged affairs with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal out of print, believing it was to protect Trump from political liabilities. The attorney said that he thought Trump would foot the bill for Daniels’ silence. The judge fined Trump $9,000 for violating the gag order multiple times. The attorney testified that he became frustrated with Michael Cohen delaying payments to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election, believing Cohen was trying to avoid making payments until after the election.
