Hallmark Stars Shantel VanSanten & Victor Webster’s Divorce Keeps Them Linked

Details of Shantel VanSanten and Victor Webster’s discreet divorce were initially brought to light through court documents obtained by People. According to these documents, Webster was awarded sole ownership of their dog, but VanSanten received the right to visit the dog frequently. However, the “Final Destination” star couldn’t care for the dog for more than three weeks at a time without incurring a substantial penalty of $10,000 per day until Nova, the dog, was returned to Webster. Additionally, VanSanten was required to inform the “Workin’ Moms” actor about the dog’s location at all times.

On another note, the former couple reached an agreement on joint custody of their two cats. These pets would reside at Webster’s brother, Vincent’s house. Moreover, each party agreed to pay Vincent $1,500 annually for taking care of the cats.

The peculiar emphasis on pets in the divorce agreement naturally sparked curiosity. When we approached Holly Davis, a nationally-recognized family law trial attorney, she mentioned that pet custody agreements are a rarity in her extensive career. Davis explained that while dogs are considered part of the marital assets, legal professionals understand the strong emotional bonds people have with their pets. Consequently, they often spend significant amounts on mediation to establish ownership. However, she clarified, “Typically, courts will not go so far as to issue a court-ordered dog possession schedule or issue court-ordered support for the dog.”
