Handcuffed man seen on bodycam video telling Ohio officers ‘I can’t breathe’ prior to his death

The Canton Police Department in Ohio released body camera footage of a 53-year-old man, Frank Tyson, who died after repeatedly saying “I can’t breathe” while handcuffed and pinned to the ground on April 18. Witnesses directed police to Tyson at an AMVETS lodge after a car crash. The video shows officers handcuffing Tyson, putting a knee on his upper body, and Tyson saying he could not breathe. CPR was started after Tyson became unresponsive, and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an independent investigation. Officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
