Hannah Berner Denies Being ‘Fired’ from ‘Summer House’

Hannah Berner is sharing her side of the story regarding her exit from Bravo’s popular show Summer House.

Known for her comedic wit, Berner faced a significant conflict with co-stars Amanda Batula and her husband, Kyle Cooke, over Cooke’s beverage brand, Loverboy.

Berner recently opened up about this topic on the “BFFs” podcast, hosted by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy. Portnoy asked if the rumors were true that Berner was let go after Season 5 of the reality series due to her promoting a competitor’s seltzer drink.

“Oh, wow, Dave is on his s–t,” Berner responded. “The truth is beef started because I did an ad for Truly [Hard] Seltzer, and I didn’t know that I, like, wasn’t allowed to,” the 32-year-old clarified.

Berner maintained that “Bravo didn’t fire” her, explaining that “some people on the cast got annoyed at [her], and then it kind of snowballed.”

Asked by Portnoy if her fellow cast members were frustrated with her due to Loverboy, Berner acknowledged that Loverboy was a major storyline on the show. “I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to drink other drinks,” Berner said.

She observed that “some of these shows become a lot of egos.” She added, “It’s like, ‘It’s my show. It’s my drink. You can’t do that.’ And there’s no rules, and it just becomes fighting over egos and screen time, and it’s not that fun after doing it for too many seasons.”

In 2021, Berner announced her departure from Summer House, stating then that she wanted to focus on her comedy career.

Since leaving the show, Berner has been active in the comedy scene, releasing a special titled We Ride at Dawn on Netflix.

Before her stint on Summer House, Berner was a familiar voice on the popular radio talk show “The Taylor Strecker Show.”
