Hayley Williams Honors Freddie Mercury at Wembley Stadium

Paramore has been supporting Taylor Swift during her worldwide Eras Tour and celebrated the final night of a five-night stand at London’s Wembley Stadium by honoring Freddie Mercury. Queen famously played Live Aid at Wembley in 1985, and Paramore’s frontwoman, Hayley Williams, channeled the late singer by wearing a similar outfit to the one he wore during that iconic show. She wore a white cropped tank top, light-wash jeans with a studded belt, and black boots. Additionally, she paid tribute by singing the iconic “Ayo” vocal runs Mercury performed with the audience all those years ago.

“I’ve got one minute to try something, and I need you to help me,” Williams told the crowd before bursting into song. When she held the microphone to the 92,000-person crowd, they recited “ayo!” back without hesitation. “Oh my f**king God,” she exclaimed with a laugh after finishing the call and response. The rest of her band was also cheering in support behind her.

The Wembley shows marked the end of The Eras Tour European leg, and the last show Paramore will support on the massive tour. Swift sets out for the final North American leg in October.
