He Was Never Happy There

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are looking to make a quick sale. The couple, who have been the subject of divorce rumors for several weeks, are reportedly eager to offload their Beverly Hills, California mansion as soon as possible.

“They initially wanted to sell it off-market but made a last-minute decision to list it publicly to attract more potential buyers,” an insider told Us Weekly in a report published Saturday. “They are in a rush to sell it. Ben especially wants to be done with the house. He never liked it there.”

Sources close to the couple also revealed that their decision to list the house was made “within the last week.” This revelation comes after earlier reports in June that the couple was attempting to sell their home off the market. On July 1, it was also disclosed that they were looking to sell some of their art pieces.

The main issue, according to the Us Weekly source, is that the 38,000-square-foot mansion never felt like home to either of them. “They rarely have all their kids there at once, so it felt massive for just the two of them,” the source noted. An earlier report by People indicated that Affleck disliked the 12-bedroom home because it was “too far” from his kids, whereas Lopez found it “too big.”

Affleck and Lopez share five children in total. Lopez has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Affleck has daughters Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15, and son Samuel, 12, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Interestingly, the couple had only purchased the mansion in June 2023 for $60.85 million after a long search for their dream home. This purchase came less than a year after the couple eloped in Las Vegas, two decades after their original engagement. Lopez was full of optimism at the time, calling love “beautiful” and “patient.”

However, the tone seems to have shifted significantly. Insiders have suggested that Lopez is now over the marriage. “Jenny has had enough. She really tried, but she can do no more; it’s not getting any better, it’s worse,” a music industry insider alleged to the Daily Mail in June. A source close to Affleck informed Page Six in May that he would “divorce on grounds of temporary insanity” if he could. “He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now, understanding there is just no way this is going to work,” the source added.

The pressure to sell their luxurious property, coupled with ongoing relationship issues, has only fueled the divorce rumors surrounding the couple. Selling the home could potentially mark the end of an era for both stars, who have faced both ups and downs since rekindling their relationship.

For now, all eyes remain on the couple as they navigate this turbulent period. Will the sale of their mansion mark a new beginning or an impending end? Only time will tell.
