Hochul suggests review of Monroe County DA by prosecutorial oversight commission

Governor Kathy Hochul referred the Monroe County District Attorney to a state commission for berating a cop who pulled her over for speeding in upstate New York. Bodycam footage showed DA Sandra Doorley ignoring the officer and complaining about him. She was written up for speeding and later pleaded guilty. Hochul stated that prosecutors must uphold ethical standards and referred Doorley to the Commission on Prosecutorial Conduct. The commission was established in 2021 to investigate prosecutorial conduct and ensure high ethical standards are maintained. The incident highlights the importance of law enforcement’s dedication to protecting New Yorkers.
