Homes in Nebraska and Iowa destroyed by tornadoes sweeping through the Midwest

Residents in suburban Omaha, Nebraska began cleaning up after a tornado demolished homes and businesses, moving through farmland and into subdivisions. Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen planned to tour the area and hold a news conference following the tornadoes on Friday night, which caused injuries but no reported fatalities. Injuries were reported in Lancaster County when a tornado hit an industrial building, collapsing with 70 people inside but no life-threatening injuries. The National Weather Service issued tornado watches for several states, warning of possible significant tornadoes, large hail, and strong wind gusts. Police and firefighters helped residents in affected areas.
