Hugh Jackman Grants Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Wish with a Twist

After their successful collaborations as Deadpool and Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are setting their sights on another Marvel team-up, this time with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. If this dream team becomes a reality, Holland’s Peter Parker wouldn’t have it easy.

In a recent interview with Marvel Thailand, Reynolds and Jackman were asked which MCU hero they’d like to join forces with next. Both actors quickly agreed that Holland’s Spider-Man would be an ideal choice.

“I’d love to play with Spider-Man,” Reynolds commented. “Tom Holland is amazing.”

Jackman echoed the sentiment, saying, “He’s so cool. That would be great.”

However, the teamwork wouldn’t be without its challenges. “He’s young; we could pile on him, abuse him,” Jackman added.

“You can hit him as hard as you want, he gets right back up,” Reynolds joked.

They also mentioned the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) as another potential ally. Jackman prefers having the green giant on their side rather than facing him as an opponent.

Since 2016, Tom Holland has brought Peter Parker to life in the MCU. He made his debut as Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War.” Following this, he starred in a trilogy of solo films and played significant roles in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame.”

Holland’s first solo outing, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” earned over $880 million at the box office, a notable feat given it was the third adaptation of the character in recent years.

The subsequent films, “Far from Home” and “No Way Home,” each surpassed the billion-dollar mark. “No Way Home” stands as the highest-grossing Spider-Man film to date, pulling in $1.9 billion worldwide, with $1.1 billion from international markets.

There’s already a fourth MCU Spider-Man film in the works featuring Holland and Zendaya. Given the success of Deadpool and Wolverine, another Marvel team-up involving Spider-Man could be on the horizon. The perfect contrast between Holland’s youthful Spider-Man and the more irreverent Deadpool and Wolverine would be a treat for fans.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” marks the third movie in the Deadpool series and brings Reynolds and Jackman’s characters together on screen for the first time since “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

In this installment, Wade Wilson (Reynolds) is living a quiet life after using Cable’s time machine in “Deadpool 2.” He’s found a new calling selling used cars but is not engaged to Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) anymore. His serene life is disrupted when the Time Variance Authority (TVA) recruits him for a crucial mission.

The task at hand has significant implications for Wade’s universe. To tackle this immense challenge, he enlists the help of Wolverine (Jackman). Together, they face off against the main antagonist, Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), in a bid to save the world.

The film is directed by Shawn Levy, who also co-wrote the script alongside Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. Levy is known for his work as a producer and director on “Stranger Things” and has previous experience working with both Jackman and Reynolds.

He directed Jackman in “Real Steel” in 2011 and has more recently collaborated with Reynolds on “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project.”

Excitement is building for the release of “Deadpool and Wolverine,” slated to hit theaters on July 26.
