“I Saw the TV Glow” to Release on Max in September 2024

Great news for horror film enthusiasts! If you missed the chance to catch “I Saw the TV Glow” in theaters back in May, you’ll soon have another opportunity. This intriguing horror movie is set to make its streaming debut on Max this September, and it will also premiere on HBO the same month.

“I Saw the TV Glow” is crafted by Jane Schoenbrun, who is well-known for their work on the psychological horror film “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair.” Produced by A24 and Emma Stone’s Fruit Tree film and television production company, the movie revolves around two teenage misfits, Owen and Maddy. They form a deep connection over their mutual love for a supernatural television show. However, when the TV show abruptly ends, their lives take a strange and terrifying turn, launching them into a surreal and nightmarish adventure.

Leading the cast are Justice Smith, known for “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” and “The American Society of Magical Negroes,” and Brigette Lundy-Paine, recognized for their roles in “Atypical” and “Bombshell.” Joining them are Helena Howard, Lindsey Jordan, Conner O’Malley, Emma Portner, Ian Foreman, Fred Durst, and Danielle Deadwyler.

The horror film made its debut at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and had a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on May 3. By May 17, it expanded to more theaters across the U.S. and Canada. Now, it’s scheduled for release on Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service Max on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. Following that, the film will air on HBO on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT.
