If Trump testifies in hush money trial, prosecutors could confront him over defamation and fraud

They can bring up his violations of gag orders and prior rulings in other cases involving fraud and defamation. However, they cannot mention the sexual abuse findings and monetary damages from a defamation case. The judge allowed these questions to assess Trump’s credibility, not as evidence of a crime. The prosecutors are also allowed to bring up the collapse of the Trump Foundation and a criminal tax fraud case involving Trump Organization subsidiaries.
