I’m Convinced This ‘Bachelorette’ Finale Theory Predicts Jenn’s Season Ending

It’s finally here: The finale of Jenn Tran’s history-making season of The Bachelorette arrives next Tuesday, and we’ll all finally see how her journey concludes. While I typically steer clear of Reality Steve to avoid spoilers, a Reddit discussion thread from the night The Bachelorette premiered weeks ago offered an intriguing theory that I can’t ignore. With the trailer for next week’s episode now available, I’m more convinced than ever that I know what’s going to happen. (Warning: Don’t read ahead if you want to avoid potential spoilers.)

Following this week’s Men Tell All episode, we were given a teaser for the epic finale where Jenn’s choice will be revealed, possibly along with a proposal. The trailer is packed with dramatic statements typical of The Bachelorette’s producer editing. We hear phrases like, “I wanna be able to dictate my own life,” and, “No Bachelorette has ever ended her journey like this.” And as Jesse Palmer, the show’s host, suggests, this season’s ending may indeed be unprecedented.

From Jonathan’s adorable “patient” routine in the premiere to Jenn’s powerful takedown of one of the men during the Tell All, this season has been unforgettable. Despite the plethora of memorable moments, the latest finale trailer echoes elements from the season trailer shown at the end of the first episode.

As usual, ABC presented a look ahead at the season with carefully edited clips designed to mislead viewers. These snippets create specific expectations that often don’t play out as suggested. For example, Jenn is heard saying, “I also see a future where I end up alone,” and later, “I have to choose myself.” Jesse reappears, stating that Jenn’s decision is one that no Bachelorette has made before. The video ends with her placing her final rose back on the pedestal, implying she might choose no one.

All of this suggests that Jenn might decide to pick herself over any of the contenders. However, this theory was challenged in a Reddit thread that caught my eye.

One Reddit user proposed an alternative theory: “I think Jenn will propose to the future fiancé. Hear me out. In the first clip she says, ‘I can’t let you propose to me.'” The user continued, “Jesse says, ‘No Bachelorette has ever done this before.’ I think Jenn will bend the knee at the end.”

This theory seems plausible, especially considering the trailer’s soundbites. Jenn proposing to her chosen man would indeed be groundbreaking and make for compelling television. Plus, the Reddit post garnered 26 upvotes, indicating that others found this idea convincing as well.

While I have no insider information about the finale’s outcome, I’ll certainly be glued to my screen this Tuesday to see how it all unfolds. The Bachelorette finale airs Tuesday, September 3 on ABC.
