Ina Garten’s Paris Adventure: Her Eye-Catching Footwear Choice
It’s no secret that Ina Garten is not just a culinary queen but a style icon in her own right. From her breezy chambray button-downs to her perfectly styled bob, and her daily masterclass in petite dressing, she’s a figure of elegance. However, I, as a self-professed Ina-head, must admit I’ve never really given much thought to her shoes. Doesn’t the name Barefoot Contessa explain itself? Har har.
To be honest, I always assumed Garten wears kitchen clogs all the time—after all, who knows when someone might need a roast chicken? So, I was surprised when I saw her choice of footwear for trekking around Paris during the 2024 Summer Olympics. She was seen wearing the same sneaker brand favored by J.Lo, Blake Lively, and even some PureWow editors.
Check out Ina’s Allbirds. She’s been spotted wearing the all-black Wool Runners, the brand’s merino wool everyday sneaker that’s temperature-regulating and machine-washable. Comfortable sneakers are a must when you’re traveling, especially when traversing a city by foot, so it makes perfect sense that she’s chosen this cushy model. These Allbirds sneakers have also received an endorsement from PureWow Commerce Editor Olivia Dubyak. “They have a great squish to them when you walk that doesn’t feel too bouncy,” she says. “I have pretty narrow feet, with some accompanying bunions on both, and they keep me feeling supported but not smushed.”
The black color that Garten has been sporting pairs impeccably with her signature uniform—black trousers and a chambray button-down. Naturally, if J.Lo, Blake, and Ina approve, they must be good.
