Inappropriate Outfits Worn by ‘The View’ Co-Hosts

“The View” has seen an array of co-hosts since it was created by Barbara Walters in the late ’90s. Each one has brought their unique style to the show, with some choices raising eyebrows. From pantsuits to more personal styles, their outfits have ranged from mildly inappropriate to downright cringeworthy.

While many get through their shows without much fuss in terms of fashion, not all have been immune to criticism. Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin usually dress well, but Alyssa Farah Griffin and Joy Behar have had their moments of fashion missteps. Whoopi Goldberg, known for her distinct style, often disregards critiques, whereas Meghan McCain is a notable mention when discussing fashion flops.

Here are some of the co-hosts’ most notable fashion fails.

Co-host Joy Behar, known for her eccentric fashion sense, had a major miss in 2023. She wore bright red, high-waisted pants gathered at the waist with a drawstring, leading to a look that was as distracting as it was shocking.

Even her co-host Ana Navarro took jabs at her, texting Behar to “pull your pants down. They’re riding all the way up to your boobs.” Navarro didn’t stop there, adding that Behar looked like “Urkel,” to which Behar responded humorously by hiking her pants up even higher.

Whoopi Goldberg, who joined “The View” in 2007, has a style often debated among fans. One of her biggest fails, however, happened outside the show during Patti Labelle’s 80th birthday celebration, where Goldberg wore an oversized black and white romper paired with a white collared shirt, leading to mixed reactions.

During “The View,” Labelle revealed that Goldberg threw the surprise party, adding a personal touch to the gathering. Despite her outfit’s mixed reception, the celebration was a hit.

Alyssa Farah Griffin also stumbled on national television in July 2023. She wore a baby blue, striped button-down shirt with only one shoulder cut-out, which looked oddly fitted. Her co-hosts tried to help fix the shirt, but the show’s costume designer, Fran, had to step in and adjust the shirt, proving it was worn incorrectly and meant to be asymmetrical.

When Fran effortlessly fixed the shirt, Griffin admitted, “You cannot trust me with fashion, which is why we have Fran,” showing her sense of humor about the fashion blunder.

Sara Haines, known for her generally classic style, broke norms with a leather skirt featuring a high, asymmetrical split. Her co-hosts couldn’t resist commenting, with Whoopi Goldberg humorously noting, “I looked down and something winked at me.”

In another instance, Joy Behar poked fun at her for wearing a dress backward. Despite the teasing, Haines responded graciously, acknowledging that fashion mishaps happen.

Meghan McCain, though no longer on the show, left a lasting impression with her numerous fashion blunders, particularly her hairstyles. From double buns to one-sided fishtail braids, her hair often stole the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

In February 2021, McCain wore her hair in an elaborate twist during a segment on COVID-19 vaccines, paired with a green sweatshirt, leading to quite an odd look. Her stylist Carmen Curry mentioned that McCain has significant input on her hairstyles, ensuring she feels confident with the choices.
