Introducing the New Cast: Scarlett Johansson & Jonathan Bailey

The Jurassic World franchise is set to roar back to life next summer with “Jurassic World Rebirth,” and Universal has just unveiled the film’s new logo and cast lineup.

Scheduled to hit theaters in July 2025, the upcoming film will introduce new actors to the franchise. Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey are set to take the lead roles, replacing Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from the previous three Jurassic World installments.

According to the official summary, this new action-packed chapter showcases a daring team racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures spanning land, sea, and air.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Jurassic World Rebirth” occurs five years after the events of “Jurassic World Dominion.”

The movie’s summary explains, “The planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

Scarlett Johansson will portray Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert. Bennett is tasked with leading a team to extract DNA from the “three most gargantuan dinosaur species left alive.”

Mahershala Ali will play Zora’s partner, Duncan Kincaid, while Jonathan Bailey will take on the role of a paleontologist named Dr. Henry Loomis. In the first official photos, Johansson’s and Bailey’s characters are seen watching something through tall grass, while Ali’s character, holding a flare, appears to be shouting.

An X post with the photos was captioned, “A new era is born.”

In addition to Johansson, Ali, and Bailey, the cast also includes:

  • Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett
  • Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid
  • Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis
  • Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs
  • Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado
