According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Nee has moved to work with Netflix, signing a two-year contract to create content geared towards preschoolers and all audiences. The streaming service also plans to produce feature-length films with Nee and her production company, Laughing Wild.

At the time of writing, the creators have shared no plans for additional episodes or seasons of Doc McStuffins. However, the series does have a spin-off titled Doc McStuffins: The Doc and Bella Are In!. It centers around Doc’s clinic, which sees the arrival of a plush bunny named Bella Bunnynose. Similar to McStuffins, he also aims to become a caring doctor. The show was released in September 2023 and featured 10 episodes. Currently, there are no renewal plans for the original Doc McStuffins show or its spin-off.
