Jacquees and Deiondra Sanders Welcome First Child on Her Father’s Birthday

Jacquees and Deiondra Sanders have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, who now shares the same birthday as her father, Deion Sanders.

Deiondra shared the joyous news on Instagram on Friday (Aug. 9), posting a few photos of her and the R&B crooner at the hospital. She also penned a heartfelt message about her new journey into motherhood.

“This journey has been long, but seeing your face, my sweet baby boy, made every moment worthwhile,” she wrote. “I am overjoyed to be your mom and can’t wait to share a lifetime of love and adventures with you. I love you so much Baby Que, I love you so much, Que.”

She went on to recount the challenges she faced during pregnancy, including fibroids, threatened miscarriages, a shortened cervix, a cerclage, myomectomies, and placenta accreta which led to taking her entire uterus. She expressed gratitude that they made it through these difficulties with the grace of God.

Jacquees also took to Instagram to share his joy, crediting his son as the “biggest blessing to date” and expressing that he’s “in love” all over again.

“God I thank you MY BIGGEST BLESSING TO DATE,” he captioned a photo of himself in scrubs after the delivery. “Baby Que 8/9/24 9:57 a.m. ATL GA! Thank you Jesus. 6 pounds 13 ounces 18 inches.”

In another post featuring a sleeping Que holding his newborn, he wrote, “IM IN LOVE AGAIN,” accompanied by heart and praying hands emojis, adding a thank you to Deiondra Sanders.

Retired NFL star Deion Sanders also shared the happy news at a press conference over the weekend, beaming about the special coincidence of his grandchild’s birth on his own birthday.

“That’s how good God is, like God would choose me on my birthday, for my daughter, for my kids to have their first child, the first time I’m a grandfather, on my birthday,” he enthusiastically told the media. “Do you understand how beautiful that is? How much of a blessing that is?”

Soon after, Jacquees proposed to Deiondra at their baby shower, ensuring another joyous family milestone. “She said YES!” Jacquees captioned a photo of the proposal, which was filled with family and friends.

The couple had recently addressed some controversy regarding their baby’s last name. Deiondra explained in a vlog that since they weren’t married, their son wouldn’t be a junior and would carry both their last names—Sanders-Broadnax.

“I’m sorry. It technically can’t be a Jr. Sanders-Broadnax is not a Jr. That’s not happening, ’cause I’m not married,” she clarified. “So my last name is going as well.”

Nevertheless, with their engagement, things may change as they prepare for their future together.
