Jacquees Proposes to Deiondra Sanders at Their Baby Shower

Jacquees has officially taken Deiondra Sanders off the market after asking for her hand in marriage. The King of the remix revealed on Sunday (July 14) that he proposed to his pregnant girlfriend during their baby shower, where they were celebrating their upcoming baby boy.

“She said YES!” Jacquees captioned a photo of him putting a ring on her finger, surrounded by family and friends. The engagement news drew congratulatory messages from friends and fellow artists, including Lloyd and Vedo. Lloyd, known for his hit song “Get It Shawty,” commented, “Congratulations Que and Deiondra! More life and more love together!” Vedo, who got married earlier this year, added, “Congratulations my dawg!!!!!” Brian Casey from Jagged Edge also chimed in, “Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Now I get it & I’m mad I couldn’t be there bro, but u already know what it is. Congrats famo.”

Despite the joyous occasion, some fans couldn’t resist trolling Jacquees a bit. “He wants that baby to have his last name. By any means necessary!” one person wrote. Another fan praised him for “making a decent woman out of the woman you love!” and teased, “Ya mama raised ya right!”

The last name controversy surfaced in late May when the couple shared a vlog. Sanders mentioned that their son wouldn’t be a junior because she’s unmarried, which would result in the child having two last names—Sanders-Broadnax. They briefly discussed the topic but Sanders clarified in the comments. “What I SAID was my last name will be going in our child’s name because I am not married and still use my last name. Que has also worked very hard for his own legacy and of course his son will have his last name also,” she explained.

During his proposal, Jacquees shared heartfelt words with Sanders. “I thank God for you honestly. We’ve been through so much in just a short period of time. I can remember when I first met you […] That night I knew it was really special because we didn’t do nothing. I knew we were locked in with God.”

Sanders confessed that she was “very surprised” by the proposal. Both were overjoyed to celebrate their love on such a special occasion.

Announcing her pregnancy back in March, the 31-year-old admitted that this wasn’t “planned nor expected,” but regarded it as a miracle from God. “I’m having my baby for the 4 myomectomy surgeries I have had. I am having my baby for all the years I stayed on birth control even though it gave me breast tumors,” she wrote in a heartfelt post. “I’m having my baby for all the Doctors that told me I wouldn’t make it out the first trimester. I’m having a baby for the 7 current fibroids that surrounds my uterus to this day. I’m having a baby for all the high-risk moms that were scared every day thinking they would miscarry.”
