Jeff Bridges, J.J. Abrams, Others Join ‘White Dudes for Harris’ Zoom Call

Jeff Bridges, J.J. Abrams, and Mark Hamill were among the Hollywood luminaries who participated in the “White Dudes for Harris” Zoom fundraising and organizing rally on Monday night.

The event, now being broadcast on YouTube, has already succeeded in raising over $3 million for Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.

“I’m white, I’m a dude, and I’m here for Harris,” said Bridges, known for his iconic role as “The Dude” in the 1998 film “The Big Lebowski.”

“I’m excited, man!” Bridges added with enthusiasm.

During the call, filmmaker Abrams pledged to match $50,000 raised by attendees.

More than 140,000 individuals signed up for the event, which also featured actors like Hamill, Sean Astin, Josh Groban, Josh Gad, and Bradley Whitford.

Democratic officials in attendance included Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, all of whom have been considered potential running mates for Harris.

“How often in a hundred days do you get to change the trajectory of the world? How often in a hundred days do you get to do something that’s going to impact generations to come?” Walz posed to the audience.

He continued, “And how often in the world do you make that bastard wake up afterwards and know that a Black woman kicked his ass and sent him on the road, and you know that’s something that guy’s going to have to live with the rest of his life,” referring to former President Donald Trump.

On the same night, a “Women for Harris” organizing call took place. This call featured appearances from actor Yvette Nicole Brown, “Pachinko” author Min Jin Lee, and social activist Gloria Steinem, among others.
