Jelly Roll gave fans in Tampa, Fla., an unexpected treat on Friday (July 12) after Morgan Wallen had to postpone his stadium concert. Known for his hit “Need a Favor,” the singer-rapper was originally set to be the opening act for Wallen at Raymond James Stadium. However, following Wallen’s illness, Jelly Roll announced a surprise show at a local club.

“TAMPA! Dallas Bull tonight— doors open at 7pm. If you have a ticket to the show you get in for free. (This is for ticket holders only) FIRST COME FIRST SERVE,” Jelly Roll wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Just hours before the gates were supposed to open at his Tampa show, Wallen took to social media to announce that he was too sick to perform. “I hate to reschedule shows but I powered through being sick in Tampa last night, and unfortunately woke up feeling way worse today,” Wallen shared on X.

Due to his illness, Wallen moved his Raymond James Stadium performance to October 4. He also postponed his concerts in Charlotte, N.C., at the Bank of America Stadium to October 18 and 19. Wallen’s next scheduled performance is set for July 25 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Wallen’s One Night at a Time tour has been a massive success, frequently selling out multiple nights in various major cities. Earlier this year, he even sold out three consecutive nights at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium. This tour features an array of opening acts including Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Nate Smith, Bryan Martin, Bailey Zimmerman, and Ella Langley, among others.

The Tennessee native recently enjoyed a five-week run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his collaboration with Post Malone titled “I Had Some Help.” The track, which was released in mid-May, was dethroned by Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” in late June.

For fans who missed the announcements, both Wallen and Jelly Roll made their updates on X, ensuring the news was widely disseminated in time for fans to adjust their plans.
