Jennifer Hudson recalls discovery father had 27 children ‘We found quite a few of us’

Hudson confirmed this, revealing that her father had 27 children.

Hudson, now 42, admitted that she has not met all of her siblings. However, she was always aware of her father’s prolific parenthood. “We were always told he had 27 children,” she said. Despite the large number, Hudson has only met some of her siblings, including those she grew up with. She expressed a long-held dream of bringing all her siblings together for a grand family gathering.

The “Dreamgirls” star recalled learning about her numerous siblings when she was a teenager. She had a vision of a large family gathering, where everyone would sit together at a Thanksgiving or Christmas table. “That was my goal at 16,” she shared. Over the years, Hudson has managed to connect with several of her siblings, thanks in part to her father’s side of the family.

Hudson recounted how her father’s side of the family played a role in bringing the siblings together. When her grandmother on her father’s side passed away, her siblings from that side reached out, telling others about their sister who could sing. This eventually led to many of them coming together.

Hudson herself is a mother to a 14-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., whom she shares with her ex, David Otunga. Currently, she is dating rapper Common. The EGOT winner briefly touched on her relationship with Common during an interview at the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards, describing everything as “wonderful.”

Hudson’s relationship with Common has been a topic of interest for many. Common appeared on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” earlier this year, where Hudson playfully questioned him about his dating life. Common, who brought flowers for Hudson, expressed his admiration for her, stating he loves being in her presence. When asked if he was dating anyone, Common confirmed he was in a relationship with “one of the most beautiful people” he had ever met, hinting at Hudson.
