Jodie Turner-Smith Joins Michael Fassbender in “The Agency”

July 15 (UPI) — Jodie Turner-Smith has joined the cast of the upcoming series The Agency.

Paramount+ with Showtime announced on Monday that Turner-Smith, 37, will star in the new spy thriller series.

Turner-Smith has garnered acclaim for her roles in films such as Queen & Slim, White Noise, and Murder Mystery 2, as well as her performances in the TV series The Last Ship and Anne Boleyn. In The Agency, she will share the screen with Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, and Richard Gere.

“Jodie Turner-Smith is a force who captivates audiences with her raw emotional power,” stated Nina L. Diaz, President of Content and Chief Creative Officer of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios & Paramount Media Networks. “We are thrilled she is joining this extraordinary cast for The Agency.”

The series follows Martian (played by Fassbender), a covert CIA agent who is ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When a past love reappears, a romance reignites, pitting his career, real identity, and mission against his heart. The official synopsis hints at a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.

Turner-Smith will take on the role of Sami Zahir, a professor of social anthropology who shares a history with Martian.

Production for The Agency is currently underway in London. The series has been commissioned by Showtime Studios and is being produced in association with 101 Studios. Notably, George Clooney and Grant Heslov are serving as executive producers.
