Jujutsu Kaisen Announces Season 2 Compilation Film

Jujutsu Kaisen is looking ahead, and it seems a venture onto the big screen is imminent. While the diligent team at MAPPA Studios focuses on season three, they are also taking a moment to revisit season two. Indeed, a new Jujutsu Kaisen movie is in production, set to compile the first half of the second season into a film.

This exciting announcement was made during a special festival in Japan, where the team confirmed that a compilation movie for the Hidden Inventory and Premature Death arcs is currently underway. The film is slated for a 2025 release, with MAPPA Studios additionally planning to release an accompanying guidebook.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, compilation films are a common practice in the world of anime. Many TV anime series eventually venture into theaters in this format, which condenses anime arcs into easily digestible sections. Numerous high-profile shonen series such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and One Piece have previously released compilation films, and now Jujutsu Kaisen is joining their ranks.

MAPPA Studios isn’t new to compilation projects. Recently, it announced plans for a compilation film of Attack on Titan’s final two specials. Titled Attack on Titan: Last Attack, this film is expected to premiere in Japan next year. It remains to be seen whether these compilation films will also be screened internationally.

The supernatural series follows Yuji Itadori, a high schooler with remarkable athletic talent who prefers spending time with the Occult Club.
