Justin Gatlin’s book is officially on the market.

Gatlin, a five-time Olympic medalist – including a gold medal in the 100-meter dash at the 2004 Athens Olympics – and Pensacola native, published a book that was released on Tuesday with a small launch party on Zoom. The book, titled “Ready, Set, Go!: From Grind To Glory: The Justin Gatlin Story,” was published by Game Changer Publishing and is now available on Amazon.

Currently, it’s available as an e-book on Kindle and as a paperback. Amber Martinez, the director of client services at Game Changer Publishing who was also on the Zoom webinar, said the book will be available hardcover soon – and the cover is “beautiful.”

Gatlin previously told the PNJ that his book is not only his story and how he found track and field, but there’s additional sections including different “activations.” There’s also a portion of the book with Gatlin’s parents, Willie and Jeanette, who give their perspective on being a parent of a top athlete while also showing “how to have an eye to see if your child has champion qualities.”

“Everyone knows that I’m pretty much a private person in a lot of ways. Most of the people I see on here are part of my circle, and I appreciate you so, so much for being there for me. This book is going to be a piece of me. So I hope that you enjoy it,” Gatlin said during the Zoom call. “There are also going to be photos that are dear to my heart that the public has never seen. … There’s a lot of combinations of me, my journey all rolled into one. I hope that you love it all.”

“There’s so much value in the book,” Martinez added.

The Zoom webinar was attended by a few different groups of people who all played a “major” part in Gatlin’s life, he said during the call. During the short launch, everyone bought Gatlin’s new book together – some buying multiple copies of the book – to try to boost seller ratings on Amazon.

“You’ve seen (or) been a part of my journey. I appreciate you all. You all know how hard I worked to stay me. … This is a little bit of me to give to the world,” said Gatlin, who also hosts a podcast called “Ready Set Go.” “This won’t be my last. I’m working on a next book as we speak.”
