Kamala Harris Trolls Musk Interview Using Trump’s Words and Social Media

Kamala Harris has taken to social media to revel in the technical issues that disrupted Donald Trump’s recent X Spaces interview with Elon Musk. On his own platform, Truth Social, Trump had previously criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for encountering similar problems during his campaign launch on X.

In May, Trump mocked DeSantis, stating, “Wow! The DeSanctus TWITTER launch is a DISASTER! His whole campaign will be a disaster. WATCH!” Following the technical troubles during Trump’s interview, Harris decided to repost this statement, effectively turning the tables on Trump.

She shared her retweet on Truth Social, amplifying the irony of Trump facing the same issues he had mocked others for just months prior. This was particularly poignant given Trump’s earlier boasting about his platform, declaring, “My Red Button is bigger, better, stronger, and is working (TRUTH!). Yours does not.”

Trump had been looking to this interview as a way to reclaim momentum in his campaign after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election, allowing Harris to surge in the polls while leaving Trump struggling to mount effective counter-attacks.

Unfortunately, the anticipated interview faced a significant setback, marked by a 40-minute delay. Many listeners were unable to access the conversation, which Musk attributed to a potential cyber attack. When the discussion finally commenced, it veered into unexpected territory.

Trump made a peculiar comparison between Harris’s appearance on the cover of the latest issue of Time magazine and that of his wife, Melania Trump. He also labeled Harris’s potential takeover of Biden’s position as a “coup.”

During the one-sided interview, which lacked any challenging questions, Trump discussed controversial ideas, such as eliminating the federal Department of Education and implementing an Israeli-style defense system for the U.S. He also propagated false claims regarding illegal immigration and climate change, while praising authoritarian leaders like Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong-un. Furthermore, he expressed his admiration for electric vehicles, a notable sentiment in the context of his conversation with Musk, the CEO of Tesla.

Musk, during the interview, offered his own supportive remarks, stating, “I think we’re at a fork in the road of destiny, of civilization, and I think we need to take the right path, and I think you’re the right path.”

However, many listeners noted an unusual quality to Trump’s speech, with some suggesting that he exhibited slurring or a “lisp,” which became a focal point of discussion following the interview.

In response to the events of the night, Harris’s campaign spokesperson, Joseph Costello, commented, “Trump’s entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself – self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024.”

Despite the mockery aimed at Trump, Musk concluded the evening by extending an invitation for Harris to join him for an X Spaces event of her own. This unexpected gesture suggests an unusual camaraderie amidst the competitive landscape of the upcoming elections.

The back-and-forth between these prominent political figures illustrates the ongoing tensions and rivalries as the 2024 presidential campaign heats up. Both sides seem to be preparing for a battle that will not only involve traditional campaigning but also significant engagement on social media platforms, where moments like this can have wide-reaching ramifications.

As the political dynamics continue to unfold, it will be interesting to see how both Trump and Harris adapt their strategies in response to these events and the growing influence of social media on public perception.
