Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter to Reunite for Broadway Play

Aug. 2 (UPI) — Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, the beloved duo from “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” are reuniting for a Broadway play. The iconic actors will star in a new production of Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot,” set to premiere in the fall of 2025.

A post on Instagram from Winter and the official “Godot Broadway” account confirmed the news, stating, “Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter star in Jamie Lloyd’s new production of WAITING FOR GODOT. Coming to Broadway Fall 2025.”

Reeves is cast as Estragon, while Winter will play Vladimir in this four-person play, a classic of existentialist theater. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, known for his work on “Betrayal,” “A Doll’s House,” and “Sunset Boulevard,” this production is anticipated to bring fresh energy to the timeless piece.

“Waiting for Godot” has seen four previous Broadway productions. The most recent one, staged in 2013-14, featured legendary actors Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in the principal roles. This time, Reeves and Winter will bring their unique chemistry to the stage, offering a new interpretation of Beckett’s celebrated work.
