Keith Urban’s Song Reveals How He and Nicole Kidman Raise Their Daughters

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s daughters have been in the public eye significantly more in 2024, despite their previously private lifestyle. However, being the kids of Urban and Kidman means they’ve had the chance to travel the world and experience some unique opportunities, much like Urban did during his own upbringing.

Urban recently shared a series of nostalgic photos of himself playing the guitar to mark the release of his new song on Aug 2. The throwback images prompted fans to draw parallels between Urban’s childhood and his daughters’ unique experiences growing up.

In the caption of his social media post, Urban wrote, “When I was a kid, our family moved around a lot. For me, a ‘hometown’ has always felt more about my family and a place inside of me—somewhere I could find my center.” He concluded with, “HEART LIKE A HOMETOWN is out now.”

This reflection has made many, including writers at Hello, realize how much Urban’s childhood mirrors that of his daughters, Sunday and Faith. Despite the couple’s efforts to keep their children out of the public eye, the family travels extensively, evoking Urban’s own mobile upbringing.

It’s clear that Urban and Kidman have successfully integrated their love for traveling into their family life, using it as a tool to bond and educate their children about the world. They have honed this approach to raising their daughters, indicating how well they’ve adapted their lifestyle to benefit their children.

For those who might not be familiar, Kidman and Urban have two daughters named Sunday, born in July 2008, and Faith, born in December 2010. Kidman also has two children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise: Bella, born in December 1992, and Connor, born in January 1995.

In a rare, previous interview with Glamour, the Oscar-winning actress shared her love for being a mother. “I just love kids. I said once, ‘I prefer children to adults.’ I like adults more now, not more than kids, though. I love being around children.”
