Three Kenner Police officers were shot during a SWAT operation that lasted for hours. The suspect, Michael Lathers, who was wanted for an attempted murder and robbery, was pronounced dead by JPSO deputy. The incident began when two people were shot outside a residence in Kenner. The SWAT team encountered gunfire from Lathers as they entered the residence. Three officers were shot and one returned fire. Lathers later shot at a JPSO car and was shot by a deputy. The scene has been cleared and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
