Kern County supervisor under investigation for suspected sexual assault involving a minor

Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner is under investigation for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his children, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Donny Youngblood received a call from Dist. Atty. Cynthia Zimmer, Scrivner’s aunt, stating that Scrivner was armed and in a state of distress at his home. Scrivner, who was found with non-life-threatening injuries from a physical altercation with his children, denies the assault allegations. Detectives seized evidence from Scrivner’s home, and an emergency protective order now prevents him from contacting his children. The investigation is ongoing and Scrivner’s attorney states the allegations are false.
