Five years after Kevin Feige first teased the Fantastic Four and the X-Men at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios is returning to Hall H to preview the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2019, Feige hinted at projects like “The Fantastic Four” and mutants, concluding a 90-minute presentation filled with announcements of post-Infinity Saga projects.

This year, SDCC 2024 promises to be even more exciting. Marvel Studios will occupy the 6,500-seat Hall H with two panels over two nights. On Thursday, July 25th, a 60-minute “Deadpool & Wolverine” panel will be followed by a 75-minute Marvel Studios panel on Saturday, July 27th.

Feige will be joined by “Deadpool & Wolverine” director Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for “The Ultimate Deadpool & Wolverine Celebration of Life” panel. On Saturday, Feige will return to discuss the remainder of Phase 5 and upcoming Phase 6 projects. As Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Feige will also be part of the “Marvel Fanfare” panel on Friday.

Feige mentioned to Deadline that the pandemic and strikes had disrupted their schedule, but they have now designed their film schedules to align with Comic-Con presentations. He emphasized Hall H’s significance as an iconic venue for unveiling important pop culture moments, even to those who have never attended Comic-Con.

Marvel Studios unveiled the MCU launching “Iron Man” during Comic-Con in 2006 and 2007. Feige reminisced about showing clips of “X-Men 2” before Hall H existed at San Diego Comic-Con and panels for Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy. He fondly remembers the “Iron Man” panel with Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr., emphasizing Comic-Con’s importance to Marvel’s journey.

Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine” will be in theaters on July 26th. Stay tuned for the latest updates from San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
