Kidnapping suspect leads to police standoff, closes 91 Freeway in Los Angeles

A suspect was arrested after a lengthy standoff on Friday night, leading to the closure of the 710 and 91 Freeways. The suspect, a male, initially led officers on a pursuit before pulling over on an on-ramp to the southbound 710 Freeway. Despite attempts by the police to get him to come out, he refused and barricaded himself inside the van. After traffic delays and various attempts to stop him, the suspect was finally disabled on the freeway shoulder and taken into custody by the SWAT team around 7:40 p.m.
