PREVIOUS, May 15: Netflix’s new comedy series from Erin Foster, featuring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, now has a title, release date, and a first-look photo. Initially known as the Untitled Erin Foster Show, the series has been retitled Nobody Wants This. It will premiere on September 26 on Netflix. You can see a first-look photo of Bell and Brody above. Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, shared the news during the streamer’s Upfront presentation in New York City.

Nobody Wants This is a comedy focused on the surprising relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman named Joanne (Kristen Bell) and an unconventional rabbi named Noah (Adam Brody).

Erin Foster explained her inspiration for the show in a statement to Tudum: “This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy. But I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable (there’s nothing to complain about). So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard. Nobody Wants This, but we do, and that’s all that matters.”

The cast list is further enriched by the talents of Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Stephanie Faracy, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Michael Hitchcock, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Bearman. Additionally, Emily Arlook, known for her role in Grown-ish, joins in a recurring role as Rebecca, Noah’s “perfect” Jewish girlfriend who has done everything right to get him to propose.

Erin Foster serves as creator and co-showrunner along with Craig DiGregorio. Both Foster and DiGregorio executive produce alongside Steven Levitan, Kristen Bell, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, and Jack Burditt. Oly Obst is the executive producer for 3arts. The series is produced by 20th Television in association with Steven Levitan Productions.
