Kristi Noem’s Chances for Vice President Plummet Following Dog Killing Disclosure

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s chances of being Donald Trump’s 2024 running mate have dropped significantly after reports surfaced that she had shot her “untrainable” dog. A prediction market, Polymarket, currently gives her a 3 percent chance of becoming the next Republican vice president, down from 10 percent a day earlier. Noem had been considered a front-runner along with Elise Stefanik and J.D. Vance, but now South Carolina Senator Tim Scott leads with a 22 percent chance. Noem faced backlash for the incident, with critics calling her actions unnecessary and disturbing. Trump had previously praised both Scott and Noem as potential VP candidates.
