Kylie Jenner Denies Ozempic Claims, Opens Up About Body Shaming

Kylie Jenner has firmly addressed claims suggesting she’s been using Ozempic, a medication primarily prescribed for Type 2 diabetes that also has weight loss side effects.

The 27-year-old reality star opened up about facing online critiques regarding her appearance in a recent interview with British Vogue published on August 13. In the cover story, Jenner shared that she weighed 200 pounds after giving birth to her two children, Stormi, six, and Aire, two, whom she shares with ex-partner Travis Scott.

Jenner recounted her journey of shedding the baby weight after Stormi’s birth, only to become pregnant with Aire shortly afterward. Despite her efforts to lose the weight again postpartum, misinformed and body-shaming comments persisted.

“I felt in shape and was working out, and then I got pregnant and did it all over again,” she explained. “I feel like people didn’t give me, or women in general, enough empathy. I see pictures online, and people are accusing me of being on drugs or something.”

Addressing rumors about Ozempic use to lose weight, Jenner acknowledged she had seen such accusations. The star of “The Kardashians” expressed how deeply such criticisms affected her, especially after enduring two pregnancies.

“I’m back at my weight I was before I had my daughter and son, and people are putting side-by-sides of me three months postpartum,” she lamented. “I’m like: ‘Does everyone forget that I had two children and I gained 60 pounds both pregnancies?’”

Earlier this year, Jenner’s friend Yris Palmer came to her defense amidst body-shaming remarks. When Palmer posted a TikTok video with the Kylie Beauty founder in March, several commenters speculated that Jenner was using Ozempic. Palmer was quick to dismiss the speculation, responding, “Actually, my friend is back to her pre-baby weight and looks amazing,” along with a smiling face with a hearts emoji.

Since giving birth to her son Aire in February 2022, Jenner has continued to speak openly about how her body has transformed. A month after welcoming her second child, whose name was changed from Wolf Webster to Aire Webster, Jenner took to her Instagram Story to discuss her postpartum struggles.

“I just want to say… my postpartum has not been easy,” she revealed. “This experience for me, personally, has been a little harder than with my daughter.”

She emphasized that she didn’t want to return to normal life without acknowledging her challenges, stressing the importance of other moms seeing a realistic portrayal of postpartum recovery. “I think we can look on the internet, and for other moms going through it right now, it might look a lot easier for other people and put pressure on us. But it hasn’t been easy on me either. It’s been hard, and I just wanted to say that.”

In subsequent weeks, Jenner shared that she had managed to lose a significant portion of the weight gained during her second pregnancy. “Gained 60 lbs again this pregnancy,” she noted on her Instagram Story, which featured a boomerang of her walking on a treadmill. “Down 40 lbs… just trying to be healthy and patient. Walking/pilates is my favorite combo.”

During her British Vogue interview, Jenner also delved into her struggles with postpartum depression, which she first experienced at age 20 after Stormi’s birth. She admitted that her “baby blues” lasted about a year after her son was born, with more intense symptoms the second time around.

Reflecting on her journey, Jenner expressed that approaching 27 years old finally felt like herself again. “Being pregnant, I wore sweatpants every day, I didn’t have time to figure out even some of the little things in my life, and then postpartum lasted a year,” she explained. “Mentally, it’s really hard. Hormonally, it’s really hard. I didn’t know how to dress.”

“It hit me differently both times,” Jenner added. “Probably with my son, it was major baby blues, so I was just so emotional over things that I probably wouldn’t be that emotional about [typically].”
