Lawsuit filed by Baltimore against owner and manager of ‘unseaworthy’ Dali following bridge collapse

Baltimore has filed a lawsuit against the operators of the container ship Dali, which collided with and destroyed one of the city’s main bridges, resulting in six fatalities. The city claims that the ship was unseaworthy and the owners and managers were negligent. The defendants have sought to limit their liability in court. Baltimore is seeking a jury trial to hold the defendants fully accountable. The lawsuit alleges gross negligence and recklessness on the part of the ship’s owner and manager, resulting in the bridge collapse. Investigations and recovery efforts are ongoing, with some bodies still missing.
