Linkin Park Announces Upcoming Event

After what seemed like an immense tease in music history on August 28, Linkin Park quietly announced an exclusive event scheduled for next week. Here is everything we know about it.

Over the weekend, Linkin Park launched a countdown on their website and social media, which expired yesterday at 2:15 PM ET. When the countdown reached zero, the numbers glitched and then began counting back up, leaving fans puzzled and feeling as if they had been trolled.

However, that wasn’t the case. Observant fans who kept the countdown open may have noticed that at the 00:09:05 mark, the numbers glitched again, hinting that the numbers 9 and 5 have some significant relevance.

In a new post on social media, Linkin Park shared a close-up photo of the corner of their logo with the caption, “Be part of something. September 5,” and included a link to their band website.

A few fans on the Linkin Park Reddit page posted screenshots of an email they received from the LP Underground fan club. The email contained a unique access code for an event taking place on September 5 in Los Angeles, California.

Although the email did not explicitly state the nature of the event, it mentioned that it would occur “between 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM,” with tickets being randomly assigned to a select group that RSVP’d.

Several restrictions were also noted at the bottom of the email, such as a minimum age requirement of 18 years old. It also stated that tickets were non-transferable and that attendees couldn’t bring guests. Additionally, fans had to be members of the fan club as of August 24 to sign up.

While some fans speculated that the event might be a private concert, others considered less obvious possibilities. Given the time frame mentioned in the email, a few individuals believe it could be a music video shoot.

“Live stream show with a variety of singers. At some point, they reveal the new member,” theorized one fan.

“Five-hour event? It can’t be just a concert. It might be a whole ceremony to present the new singer, if there is one, and to honor Chester [Bennington]… that’s my theory,” another fan suggested.

The person who shared the email screenshot noted that the RSVP link directed them to “Ticketmaster at a Secret Location,” which strongly indicates it will be a live event of some sort.
