London TV Screenings Expand with Launch of MIP London

The London TV Screenings is set to expand once again.

As MIP gears up to move to London for the first time, the annual event will now span five days instead of four, featuring more than 30 distributors as revealed this morning.

Taking place from February 23 to February 28, The London TV Screenings will kick off with a Studiocanal event on Sunday evening at the Ham Yard Hotel. The week will conclude on Friday afternoon with events organized by the four founding distributors: All3Media International, Banijay Entertainment, Fremantle, and ITV Studios. These events will be hosted across Leicester Square, Soho, and Covent Garden.

Overall, more than 30 companies will host screenings at the event, which has become a crucial date in the TV calendar in recent years. Notably, BBC Studios moved its showcase from Liverpool to London post-Covid.

This development comes as MIP TV relocates from Cannes to London, news that was revealed earlier this year. MIP London will be held concurrently with the London Screenings from February 24-27. The event will feature smaller buyers and sales houses renting out areas, suites, and joining networking hubs at London’s Savoy Hotel. RX France, the event’s owner, has emphasized that MIP London will be “complementary” rather than a competitor to the London TV Screenings.

“The London TV Screenings has firmly established itself as the leading distribution event in the UK, with last year’s edition seeing a surge in attendance across the capital,” stated a spokesperson for the event. “To ensure nothing is missed, and to accommodate an ever-expanding schedule, we’re delighted to begin the 2025 Screenings a day earlier, meaning we continue to deliver a high-quality, unmissable and free-to-attend event to the international content community.”

The screenings team reported a 50% increase in buyer attendance last year, bringing the total to more than 750. More details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
