Louisiana man receives 50-year prison sentence, physical castration for raping teen

A Louisiana man, Glenn Sullivan Sr., 54, was sentenced to decades in prison and physical castration for pleading guilty to raping a teenager. The assaults resulted in pregnancy, and DNA confirmed he was the father. Sullivan also groomed and threatened the victim. The district attorney commended the victim for speaking up. Louisiana law allows chemical or physical castration for certain rape convictions, with Sullivan being physically castrated. The process will be done by the Department of Corrections, but not until a week before his 50-year sentence ends, when he will be over 100.
