Mackenyu Teases New Season 2 Updates in Latest Live Chat

Mackenyu has made a name for himself in numerous live-action anime adaptations throughout his acting career. Before embodying the role of pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro in Netflix’s “One Piece,” he had significant roles in live-action films like “Rurouni Kenshin,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Knight of The Zodiac,” and “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable.” As work has commenced on the second season of “One Piece,” Mackenyu is set to reprise his role as Zoro and has already started to tease the return of the Straw Hats. Notably, he hinted at the arrival of Tony Tony Chopper.

Zoro will face many challenges in the forthcoming live-action season of “One Piece,” especially if the series continues to adhere closely to its source material. Creator Eiichiro Oda recently confirmed in a social media post that the Straw Hats will journey to locations like Loguetown, Little Garden, and Drum Island as their adventure progresses. For Roronoa specifically, the green-haired swordsman will encounter formidable foes such as Mr. 3, Wapol, Buggy, and Smoker, among other villains that populate the Grand Line. Fortunately, Zoro will gain some new support on Drum Island with the live-action debut of Tony Tony Chopper.

In a recent Instagram live chat, Mackenyu revealed that he has seen the live-action version of Tony Tony Chopper and described the reindeer doctor as quite “cute.” He also took the opportunity to commend Inaki Godoy, who plays Luffy, for his progress in learning the Japanese language, noting that Godoy’s understanding of the language is “great.” Additionally, Mackenyu proclaimed that the action in the second season will surpass that of the first.

While roles for characters like Dr. Kureha, Princess Vivi, King Cobra, and Mr. 3 have been cast, Netflix has yet to confirm who will portray the next Straw Hat Pirate. In addition to Chopper’s anticipated debut, the second season will likely introduce characters such as Nico Robin and Crocodile. With the first season’s success, the second season promises to be filled with familiar faces and new characters, ensuring that many viewers will return to the Grand Line.
