Man arrested on alcohol charge after allegedly kicking bison at Yellowstone

An Idaho man was arrested after allegedly kicking a bison at Yellowstone National Park, resulting in minor injuries to himself. The man from Idaho Falls faces charges of being under the influence of alcohol, disorderly conduct, approaching wildlife, and disturbing wildlife. He was with a woman who was charged with driving under the influence, failing to yield, and disturbing wildlife. Both have pleaded not guilty. Male bison can weigh up to 2,000 pounds, with the park’s population ranging from 3,000 to 6,000. Last summer, biologists counted 4,830 bison in the park.
