Man charged with murder after causing fatal crash at Michigan birthday party, killing two young siblings

Chidester, 66, hit the Swan Boat Club in Berlin Charter Township on Saturday, leading to the death of Zayn Phillips, 5, and Alanah Phillips, 8. Chidester faces multiple charges including second-degree murder and operating a vehicle under the influence. Her attorney claimed she had a history of epileptic seizures but authorities refuted this, stating her blood alcohol level was over the legal limit. Thirteen others were injured, with five in critical condition. Chidester’s next court appearance is on April 30.
