Man Connected to 2001 Murder of Law School Student Arrested by Georgia Authorities: Tara Louise Baker

After a cold case involving the death of University of Georgia law student Tara Louise Baker in 2001, arrest has been made more than two decades later. Edrick Lamont Faust faces charges including felony murder and arson in connection with Baker’s death. The case was re-investigated in 2023 by the GBI’s Cold Case Unit and Athens-Clarke County Police. Baker’s family expressed gratitude for the ongoing dedication in solving the case. Baker, remembered as a champion of justice, was posthumously awarded her law degree. The Coleman-Baker Act, named in her honor, aims to help families of cold case victims seek justice.
