Maryland woman admits to planning attack on Baltimore power stations

Sarah Beth Clendaniel pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy and firearms charges. Clendaniel, from Maryland, was accused of planning attacks on energy substations around Baltimore with a neo-Nazi group leader. Prosecutors described the plot as racially motivated to cause chaos. Clendaniel initially pleaded not guilty but later admitted to conspiracy and firearm possession charges. She planned to target substations with the goal of causing mass destruction, acknowledging costs of over $100,000. Her plea agreement may involve cooperation against her accomplice, who is also facing charges. Clendaniel faces a possible maximum sentence of 18 years, while her partner has pleaded not guilty and awaits trial.
