Massive Smoke Plume from Fire at Oceanside Pier Reported by NBC 7 San Diego

Firefighters responded to a blaze at the far end of the Oceanside Pier. The fire started around 3 p.m., and smoke was seen billowing into the sky. Firefighting boats were spraying water at the building on the pier. The fire was located where Ruby’s Restaurant used to be. The fire department asked people to stay away from the area. A helicopter made a rare water drop on the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The pier has a history of building fires, with the current pier being built in 1987.
